December 1 One Word.
Encapsulate the year 2010 in one word. Explain why you’re choosing that word. Now, imagine it’s one year from today, what would you like the word to be that captures 2011 for you?

If I had to sum up 2010 in just ONE word, it would be grace.
Yes, Windpocken, was the first word that popped into my head, but that was such a small part of 2010, despite it truly being the gift that keeps on giving – latest fun is telogen effluvium. I chose grace because never in my wildest dreams could I have imagined a year like 2010: I celebrated my first wedding anniversary; I got back on a plane for the first time in 10 years and flew around the globe, no less; and yes, this needlephobe also spent six days in a Belin hospital with a needle in my arm because I contracted chicken pox (from my husband).
I truly did face some of my greatest fears – from doctors to my mother-in-law – and did more than survive. This year was definitely about learning and stretching and growing.
Next year I want that one word to be joy!
